About Torquay Hostel
Jubilee Hostel is located on the edge of bustling Bayswater near Paddington. The locale is full of shops, cafes, bars and clubs. Notting Hill and the famous Portobello Road, with its antique and souvenir shops are only a short distance away. Excellent transport links mean Jubilee Hostel is only a short walk or bus ride away from Kensington, Little Venice, Hyde Park and Paddington.
WIFI is free and available throughout the hostel!!
We have 2 bed private and 2 bed dormitory rooms available. Many of the rooms have en-suite and mini kitchen facilities including fridge and microwave.
September 2011 - shower facilities increased and refurbished.
The hostel has a dining/study room and TV area with large screen TV, there is also a 5 screen Internet cafe in the patio.
Secure luggage storage is available via the hostel office and the hostel has 24 hour office cover.
CHECK IN IS FROM 2PM.
ALL guests must provide a valid form of photo ID on check in or the booking will not be honored.

JUBILEE HOSTEL IS A NO SMOKING HOSTEL - WE HAVE A SMOKING AREA AT THE REAR OF THE BUILDING. Should you smoke in the building you will be asked to leave and will lose your deposit.

Nearest Tube: Royal Oak (3 mins walk) on the Hammersmith and City line direct from St Pancras International and Kings Cross. Tubes within 10 mins walk are Bayswater (Circle/District Line) and Queensway (Central Line)
On your way out of the Royal Oak tube station turn right and use the pedestrian crossing to cross the bridge. Follow Harrow Road to the Shell Petrol Station and Torquay Street is on your left.
If arriving at Bayswater or Queensway walk down Queensway to Porchester Hall and continue walking till you arrive at Harrow Road. Turn left to the Shell station and Torquay Street is on your left.
Nearest Bus: Number 18 from Baker Street or Piccadilly Circus and number 36 from Victoria Station. These buses run 24/7. The stops are located just before and just after the Shell station.

Are the boys / and service that cleans the rooms every day, cooking the bathrooms. Of course they do not clean several times a day or after each person. VERY BAD experience.
Hostel was very dodgy looking. I arrived at 12 pm and rang the buzzer for about 5 minutes and no one answered. I called the hostel phone and no one answered too. We were tired from the long journey and waiting that long wasn't a pleasant experience. We were let in by one of the guest who so happen went back in to the hostel. She let us in and we went to the office but no one was there. We had to wait another 10 minutes for the 'manager' to come back.
Check in was OK. Not that great. We even had to pay a 10 pound deposit. It wasn't stated anywhere on the website.
Oh, and towel, They told us it is not provided and we had to pay (this was not stated on the website). Later on in the day when i decided to pay for a towel. The guy at the reception told me "I'm sorry we don' t have clean towel."
The room size was ok but the toilet is really SMALL. Room was extremely disappointing. Carpet was so soiled and there were stains all over the carpet. We had 2 bunk bed and 1 bunk bed was missing a step, exposing some really sharp metal frame, and the other bunk bed had no side rail on the top bed. Mattress were worn out as when u sit on the beds, you could feel the springs poking into your body.
Breakfast was ok but there were tons of flies in that room.
This has been a bad experience for ALL of us And I would not recommend this place to anyone or return here.

Rooms were great, beds extremely comfy. Common toilet and shower quite shockingly small and very dirty. Breakfast great. Staff fab. Slightly out of centre, but we found it o.k. Would have been nice if I could have shared a room with my friends, however the girls in the dorm were lovely. Would also be nice if there were more showers and toilets on each floor, or atleast a seperate toilet! It was excellent value for money, would return again!

I have always enjoyed my stay at Torquay hostel. Very friendly staff, always very welcoming and organized. Has everything you need and the price is fantastic. Better than other hostels I have stayed in in London. Great location too. Would definitely recommend! :)

Bon accueil. Propreté pas mal, même si ce sont des gens logeant gratuitement qui font le ménage donc parfois un peu bâclé.
Si je devais retourner à Londres pas cher, je reviendrai dans cette auberge de jeunesse.

2 lavabos viejos y muy sucios para todo el hostal.
todo el hostal huele a indigencia y la habitación sólo tenía una litera y una vieja silla.

Assez bien situé dans l'ouest de Londres. Non loin donc d'Oxford street ( 4 stations de métro ).
Auberge calme la nuit mais manque d'hygiène très important. Je suis restée 5 nuits et c'était long à force (dur de rentrer dans la douche, on à l'impression que l'on va revenir plus sale qu'avant d'y rentrée).
Sinon il faut s'y contenter car c'est l'une des auberges les moins chères de Londres.
Près d'un grand parc de Londres où on y trouver à manger, grands espaces verts et espaces enfants.

Habitaciones compartidas entre 4 personas. A mi compañero le desapareció la mochila (luego la recuperó cuando nos fuimos, pero imaginaros la situación) no se puede fiar de la gente que compartes la habitación asi que mejor completarla con amigos.
Las habitaciones no me gustaron nada, sucio, camas que se mueven, ruidos, los baños asquerosos y sucios. Lo unico bueno que le pongo es el precio, pero desde luego que no lo aconsejo aunque sea gratis.
Eso sí, esta bien situado. Pero cada uno que haga lo que quiera pero mi opinión es q no vuelvo ahí nunca¡¡¡

A bit far from the center by the tube...
