About John's Cozy Little Jungle Hostel
Our cosy little hostel is perfect for single travellers who want to meet other people. We've got free Wi-Fi, individual beds instead of bunk beds, no curfew, a common kitchen and a great little common area for hanging out. Laundry service is also available.
Our building still bears the marks of WWII, with bullet holes in the walls dating back to 1945. We aim to provide a comfortable, romantic atmosphere for those who don't mind simplicity. Our plants and paintings give this place the jungle atmosphere of an artist's home, ideal for backpackers, students, world travellers, eccentrics, vegetarians, magicians, artists and explorers of culture, history and night-life. We are LGBT-friendly! Musical instruments and dogs are also welcome here � we offer welcome drinks for belly dancers, musicians, singers and magicians!

Important Information
General conditions & check-in times (Please read this, to avoid trouble.)
§1) No smoking inside the hostel nowhere! So only outside on street.
§2) Payment: We take cash or Gold only! Sorry, NO Credit-cards!
All booked days have to be paid in advance.
You have to pay in cash the full amount of your booking on arrival, plus
a key deposit of 20 €
ATMs / bank machines / cash terminals are everywhere, at stations, air-ports and also near from us, at Turmstr. on the next street corner!
§3) Please be so kind to make sure you mentioned your proper arrival-time, because check-in is by appointment only. This is, because we are a small hostel, with just a few arrivals every day, so we just want to be in and not shopping for example if there is an arrival of someone.
In case you forgot to chose your arrival-time, the default =automatic '11h' appears.
In that case, please send us an e-mail with your real arrival-time, or and sms or call.
CHECK-IN is between 9am / 9 o'clock until midnight possible only!
So choose your arrival time accordingly!
From your time of arrival on, we will wait for you for 1 hour.
In case you are late, please give us a call or send an sms.
Otherwise your booking might be cancelled and your bed get made available to booked by others.
Once you have checked in, you have 24 hours access with your own keys!
§4) No show will be charged with the first night by your credit card.
§5) No Refunds for booked and paid stays.
§6) Check out time is between 9am / 9 o'clock until 12 o'clock noon.
Early check-out : the night before until 12pm / 24 o'clock
late check out : until 20 pm, for an extra charge of half a day.
§7) Reception is open from 9am to midnight; please ring us before you arrive at the hostel to ensure someone is there to check you in.
Cash only, please. Credit cards are no accepted.
Check-out: noon. We charge one Euro per hour after that.
Check in is from 9am to midnight only. Please specify what time you will arrive when making your booking. We will only wait for you for one hour after this time. If you don't select an arrival time, the default is 11am and we will only wait for you until noon. If you think you'll be delayed, call or text us.
We charge a deposit of 20 Euro for the key.
We have a 48 hour cancellation policy. No shows and late cancellations will incur a charge of the first night's stay.
We only accept groups with a maximum of four people. Bookings of more than this shall be cancelled without a refund.
Towel rental: 1 Euro
Bed linen with pillows and blankets: 2 euro
Luggage storage: 2 Euro per person per day
Stored luggage and Lost & found articles we keep not longer than a month, food only for 1 day after your departure. After this date it goes in the garbage.
As well we do not guaranty for the content of luggage at all, except for taken cash against receipt.
Laundry service: 7 Euro
This is a smoke-free hostel. You may smoke in our lovely front garden which has benches to sit on.
Alcohol is only permitted in strictly limited quantities.
§8) Termination
The Hostels Staff reserve the right of enforcing anybody to Leave the Hostel immediately without prior Warning who is not respecting our Property
Guests or Staff and / or Violating the Law of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Use , Preperation and Posession of any kind of Drugs inside anywhere in the Hostel.
Loud Disturbing Noise at Night after 10pm ( Music, Guitars )
No Open Fire anywhere, No Incence Sticks, No Smoking
Theft ( Guest Food, private property , Laundry etc.)
Destruction of Property
We reserve the right to make changes, amendments, modifications or cancellations, in whole or in part, of this policy without prior notice at any time.
Payment in cash upon arrival only, please. Check-in: 9am to 11pm. Check-out: 9am to noon. We will only hold your room for an hour after your selected arrival time, so in cases of delay please call or text us! Reception is open from 9am to midnight. If you’re checking in after midnight we charge €3 per half an hour of started waiting per person after 12, and we’ll wait for an hour after your given arrival time. If you wish to check out before 9am, please check out the evening before. Key deposit is €20. After check-out, luggage can be left for €4 per day. Fresh bed linen, pillow and blanket-covers not included in price. It’s €3 per person and is compulsory; no own bed sheet permitted. Towels are €1. There’s no TV, no smoking and no drugs, please. Small amounts of alcohol permitted.We don’t accept groups of more than 4 people. No shows shall be charged for 80% of their booking.
Special Event Booking - New Years Eve 2012/2013
During the New Year´s Eve period (from Dec. 28th till Jan. 2nd) reservations with a minimum stay of 5 nights will be accepted, only.
Cancellations have to be announced in written form (no phone calls!) Cancellations announced more than 4 weeks before arrival are free of charge. Cancellations announced
less than 4 weeks are charged with 25% of the total balance due;
less than 3 weeks w/ 50%, and cancellations notified,
less than 2 weeks are charged w/ the total balance due (100%). -
In case of cancellations, the according cancellation fees will be charged to your credit card.

Directions & Advice about Tickets, our Cash-policy & the limited arrival-times at our hostels
I. A few words of Advice about Tickets, our Cash-policy & the limited arrival-times at our hostels:
1. Tickets: Best is a day pass AB, for 6€, better a week pass for 25€, best a month pass for 50€.
Berlin is a metropolis with the size of New York or London, to big, to walk.
The 2-hours-ticket is 2€50, a ticket for 3 stops only is 1€30
2. Cash: We accept cash only & will ask you to pay your complete Booking on arrival, plus 20€ for
the key-deposite.
3. The arrival-time mentioned in your booking is our appointment, 2 hours after this we reserve the right of canceling your booking without refund.
Our opening hours are from 9 a.m to midnight only, after this time we only wait on special request and charge 5 € extra for each hour waiting after midnight.
II. Directions
Address: Waldenserstr.30, near Oldenburger Str. , in Berlin Tiergarten-Moabit,
1. From the station 'Zoologischer Garten' :
Take the underground 'U9' (two levels down), in the direction of 'Osloer Strasse'.
Get off at the 2nd stop at Turmstrasse. There are 3 exits. Take the exit in the middle of the station. Walk up the stairs and turn left when you get outside. Cross the street and walk along Turmstrasse. Pass Wilhelmshavener Strasse, then Bredowstrasse, Jonasstrasse, and Bremer Strasse. Turn right at Oldenburger Strasse. At the first crossing, turn right again, into Waldenserstrasse. We’re at number 30 on the right side. Ring the bell on the door.
2. From 'Hauptbahnhof' station/ Berlin Central station:
Take the exit Washington Platz'. When you come out of the hall, turn left, cross the street and you see bus stop nr. 5. From there, take the bus TXL, 2 stops, until Turmstrasse.
Walk along 'Turmstrasse', into the same direction as the bus was going.
Pass Wilhelmshavener Strasse, the Bredowstrasse, Jonasstrasse, and Bremer Str. Turn right at Oldenburger Strasse. At the first crossing, turn right again, into Waldenserstrasse. We’re at number 30 on the right side. Ring the bell on the door.
3 Berlin has 3 airports:
3. a) From 6th of June 2012 there is ony the new airport BER operating anymore .
From there, just take the train to Hauptbahnhof and follow the directions of no. 2.
3. b) From 'Tegel' airport (TXL): (until 5th of June 2012 only, after this date, read 3.a)
Take the bus 'TXL' a few stops, until the underground station 'Turmstrasse'. From the bus-stop, walk a few meters back, until the traffic-light. There you turn right, cross the street 'Alt Moabit' and walk along Thusnelda-Allee, the shortest street of Berlin, beside the Church.
Cross Turmstrasse , turn left and walk along it.
Pass the City Hall and Bremer Str. At Oldenburger Strasse, turn right. At the next crossing, turn right again, into Waldenserstrasse. We’re at number 30 on the right side. Ring the bell on the door.
3. c) From 'Schoenefeld' airport (SXF), (until the 5th of June 2012 only, after this date, read 3.a)
Take the free shuttle-bus from the airport to the train station 'Schoenefeld' or walk 7 Minutes to it. Take the 'Airport-Express' train, RB or RE, which leaves every 30 minutes, and needs 20 minutes only, until ‘Zoologischer Garten'. From there follow the directions of 1.
( Don’t take the S-Bahn, because it takes much longer, and stops about 30 times on the way.
4. From the central bus station 'ZOB':
Walk out the main exit, then turn left and walk until the underground station 'Kaiserdamm'.
Take the train U1 in the direction of 'Warschauer Str.' until 'Zoologischer Garten'.
Then follow the directions of 1.
5. By car:
From the motorway = high-way = Autobahn take the exit 'Beusselstrasse'.
If you’re coming from the south, drive first in direction Center, then Tegel, and then Wedding.
At the exit Beusselstrasse, drive into the direction of ‘Tiergarten’. After the S-Bahn station 'Beusselstr.', go strait and turn at the church left into Wiclefstrasse. At Oldenburger.Strasse turn right, then left at Waldenser Str. .Our hostel is at number 30. Ring the bell on our door.

Located slightly indented from the city centre, the hostel is very nice! Lively atmosphere and fantastic meetings with common parts. With Berlin public transport very well designed, you very quickly arrive at the centre of the capital. Very good stay!

A small hostel very friendly but somewhat offset from the centre of Berlin. Close to a station of Metro and bus stops. The rooms are large enough, a few little sales under the beds but good. The Manager is fine and there is a common cuisinne which allows us to cross the other boarders. Free internet access! A really interesting price/quality ratio. Certainly this is not a Hilton, but if you go to Berlin a few days and that seek you an address small budget, this hostel is a good point of fall;)
