HI-Los Angeles South Bay is a quiet, 60-bed hostel where you can relax from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. Enjoy a spectacular sunset or walk to nearby beaches and experience the wonder of a tide pool. The hostel is situated between four buildings on two acres in a city park.

The hostel has private, semi-private, and dorm rooms available. A self-service kitchen, dining room, library, television room, and laundry facilities are available for your use. We also offer free WI-FI internet in our common room and have a laptop available for rental for a small fee. Free on-site parking is available.

Our hostel office is only open from 7am to 11pm for check in. Registered guests have in and out access to the hostel 24 hours a day. An additional $3 charge applies for non members.

Directions

By Car: Take the 110 (Harbor) Freeway south to San Pedro. The 110 freeway ends in San Pedro on Gaffey Street. Stay left onto South Gaffey Street and drive three miles down Gaffey to Angel's Gate Park. Turn right into the driveway at 36th St. The hostel buildings are on the left side of the road, enter through the courtyard.

Bus: From Union Station Take metro 450 South to Pacific and 19th St. San Pedro. You can take a cab to the hostel or Take 246 bus south to 38th and Pacific. Walk north on 38th to Gaffey, make a right and head up the hill to the driveway on the left side before 36th St. From other locations in Los Angeles go to www.metro.net for additional timetables. * Please note the #246 bus stops at 19th and Pacific after 7pm.

From LAX: Take the lot C shuttle to the bus center. Take bus #232 west to Anaheim & Avalon. Take bus #246 West (San Pedro,PT Fermin) to 38th and Pacific. Walk north on 38th to Gaffey St. Turn right on Gaffey and the hostel will be on your left side down the drive way. * Please note the #246 bus stops at 19th and Pacific after 7pm.

LAX: Take a Super Shuttle or Prime Time Shuttle to the hostel.

Metro rail: The Metro train is located at the Long Beach Transit Mall. It is approximately 9 miles from the hostel. You cannot take the Metro to the hostel; you must take the Long Beach #232 (LAX City Bus Ctr) to Anaheim & Avalon. From there take bus #246 (San Pedro - Pt. Fermin) to 38th and Pacific. Walk north on 38th to Gaffey, make a right and head up the hill to the driveway on the left side before 36th St

AMTRAK: The Amtrak hub is at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles, follow the bus directions above from Union Station.
