About Berlin Youth Hostel International

Welcome to our famous Berlin International Youth Hostel

We are situated right in the city centre of Berlin

within walking distance from Potsdamer Platz or Brandenburger Gate and many other tourist attractions. It is the right place to discover Berlin.

Join us for a night or more to find out why people from all over the world have made us one of the most popular youth hostels in Germany. Enjoy staying with us and experience the warm summer evenings on our leisure lawn, or in our beer garden beneath majestic trees. Everybody can relax here, spread out, or have a fantastic dinner in our lush garden. Someone plays a guitar and sings along. Our guests from all over the world appreciate the international atmosphere of our hostel: You can hear German, English, Japanese, Spanish and many other languages spoken.

Our Snack Bar in the lobby is open 24 hours a day: here you can order at any time a hot pizza, hamburgers, a fresh beer or an exotic cocktail. Next to the bar you can enjoy a football match or a movie on our large tv/video screen.

At our Internet Terminals you can surf the Internet for a low charge and download your mails. The large games room invites everybody to play table tennis, table soccer or billiard, or just to meet other guests. A variety of games can be borrowed free-of-charge, and you can keep up with the latest news from all over the world with daily papers in English and German.

It is a combination of international hostel atmosphere, backpackers spirit, friendly guests and competent staff that will make your stay a wonderful experience.

And on top of this the hostel management, in cooperation with New Berlin Tours, offers you a 3 ï¿½ hours walking tour in English, German or Spanish through Berlin every day with a most competent professional guide.

Rate for travellers above the age of 26 is 19.00 Euros respectively 26.00 Euros.

Surcharge for travellers without Hostelling International Membership is 3.10 Euro per night. You can also get an international guest card valid 1 year for only â‚¬ 15,50.

German customers need a membership-card for â‚¬ 12,50 up to 27 years or a membershipcard for â‚¬ 21,00 above 27 years.

Important Information

Hostel Membership is required. For non members there is a surcharge of 3.10 Euros. You can also get an international guest card valid 1 year for only € 15,50.

German customers need a membership-card for € 12,50 up to 27 years or a membershipcard for € 21,00 above 27 years.

Directions

By plane:

From Tegel Airport take bus 109 to Uhlandstrasse and change at the same bus stop to bus M29 taking you straight to our hostel at Gedenkstaette. Our Hostel is announced in the bus.

From Schoenefeld Airport take the Airpost Schuttle Train to Zoological Garden (Zoolgischer Garten), walk 5 Minutes to Kurfuerstendamm and catch Bus M29, taking you right to our hostel.

By train:

After arrival at Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) leave the building. Take bus M85, direction of S-Lichterfelde Süd, up to Potsdamer Brücke. From there take bus M29 direction of Roseneck or Wittenbergplatz. Travel up to 'Gedenkstaette Deutscher Widerstand'. Hostel is announced in the bus in English and German. Follow our hostel sign and cross the canal. Now you stand in front of our hostel with the 3 flags. You are Home again!

The busses are running at least every 10 minutes between 06.00a.m and 24.00 p.m. From 00.00 a.m. to 06.00a.m every 30 minutes.

By Car:

From direction of Hamburg/Rostock

A24 > direction Berlin via Havelland motorway junction onto the Berliner Ring A10 > direction Berlin/Prenzlau until Oranienburg motorway junction, then on the A111 > direction Berlin-Zentrum until Charlottenburg motorway junction, then on the A100 > direction Wilmersdorf/Tempelhof until Innsbrucker Platz exit, and onto the Hauptstrasse where you turn left in the direction of Schöneberg/Tiergarten and go straight along Potsdamer Strasse until Lützowstrasse, where you turn left.

From direction of Munich/Nuernberg/Halle/Leipzig

A9 > direction Berlin until Potsdam motorway junction, then onto the Berliner Ring A10 > direction Berlin until Nuthetal motorway junction, then on the A115 > direction Berlin-Zehlendorf/-Zentrum until Funkturm motorway junction where you enter the A100 > direction Wilmersdorf/Schöneberg until Innsbrucker Platz exit, here you turn left onto main road > direction Schöneberg/Tiergarten and continue to go straight on along Potsdamer Strasse until Lützowstrasse where you turn left, and then you take the first right into Kluckstrasse and continue until the youth hostel.
