Nous avons occupé la chambre 14 durant 5 nuits .tout est impeccable:service,petit déjeuner,propreté et surtout beaucoup de gentillesse de la part de tout ces jeunes.Merci encore a vous tous d avoir rendu notre séjour si agréable.

Hotel très sympa, plein de vie, et plein de bonnes surprise. Le seul bémol est la taille des chambres, c'est vraiment trop petit par rapport au nombre de lit qu'on y met dedans.

Auberge très bien situé à Edimbourg ! Malgré les pubs et bars au rez de chaussez, il est plutôt facile de bien dormir.

l'auberge se situe a 20- 25 min a pied du centre ville (Princes Street), on le trouve facilement. l'accueil et piece commune sympa. les chambres sont de 6 lits, pas super top selon les heures de réveil et de couché mais c'est bonne ambiance, dans des box fermé (meme le plafond) drole de dormir dans ce lieu! les lits sont propores. il y a des casiers fermé a clés pour mettre nos affaires. douches et sanitaires sales...voire très sales! mais bon pour le prix. expériance super sympa, bonne rigolade, bon souvenirs quand meme!

Not the best place of the world, but a really good place for spend 3 or 4 days on Edinburgh.

This was clean and the personel was nice.

Me and my boyfriend paid £10 each for a bed in a four bed dorm. The staff were friendly and helpful; they called us taxi's, suggested good places to eat and gave directions. The room was fine; clean bedding and a locker each to keep our belongings in. We ended up sharing with a young couple from Belgium and became good friends :) The building had lovely stain glass windows and winding staircases. Some of the hostel is a bit shabby but we got what we paid for.

I stayed at westend during The Fringe, i travelled alone and stayed there for 2 nights in a room for 18 people, mixed. The room was nice, though the beds are terribly squiky. I just needed a place to sleep and the westend was perfectly suitable for this purpose.

Charmant petit hotel dans un quartier up à 5-10 minutes du centre, l'accueil est vraiment sympa! Grande cuisine neuve mise à dispo plus un acces internet gratuit dans une salle commune. Seul pb, le dortoire reste... un dortoire! bruit, lumiere, et sécu il faut tjr faire gaffe! bref c'est classe, c'est propre, bon rapport qualité prix!

It is a pity that lack of sanitary because 2 wc and 3 showers per floor for approximately 50 people it is null.

He misses the breakfast included in tariff.

Disappointing, very disappointing, too expensive for what it is, especially after having spent the night in front to the Backpackers Calédonian (excellent and cheaper).

It is turning back to the entered for arriving 15 minutes before the time... provided it waited in the street... If If! The Manager is not sympathetic, not evil, but almost it apologize of the disturbed.

The rooms as Choco: "Small and uncomfortable rooms (pathetic mattress)".

Everything is small, the kitchen is the scuffle and he did there not really space meals except small round tables next to the pool and under the staircase in the hall entered. It is very badly fired (showers, toilets and space dry hair give in entered the hall, and therefore to the table where we eat). The Deco is non-existent or rather sinister, ducoup, it is without step comfortable and has a view it is quickly leave and it is the opinion of several people gold of my stay.

Last point: 2 TV screens are on non-stop in the entered and the hall of stairs with a clip of music of m * running loop.

Positive points: room small but quite clean - own shower - fairly well placed: just before the stop bus to the Airport (3.5 £ every ten minutes including night) negative Points: 1 single shower for man to our floor and very little toilet sink - expensive to benefits.

Everything was fine, staff were friendly, the hostel was clean. It was a good place to stay for the night.

friendly and very well located Youth Hostel

Après avoir passé 15 jours en tente ça a été le paradis! Nuit peu paisible à cause du bruit des chambres voisines et le métro... Bon rapport qualité/prix!

The place has perfect location (literally in the heart of the city centre) and the staff were really nice and helpful. the rooms are quite clean. the only thing i would say was causing discomfort was the lack of hot water in the morning. Nevertheless, will recommend the place.

Bedroom and kitchen relatively clean. In our "apartment" (together), to 30 beds, only 1 room bath/toilet + 1 independent toilet.

Why advertise in the site "towels and breakfast included"?

Perfect hostel for partying, pub and boxes just in the face! Comfort and amenities very acceptable.

We came more for a rugby match, and the hotel is very close to the centre.

Was very hot because the heating was difficult to resolve but otherwise very well for a youth hostel.

For those who want more luxury, choose a hotel rather than a hostel for youth but otherwise very good report quality/price.

It was really cheap, and the rooms were clean and cozy. There was no problem with room and the best thing was that everything was so close.

Hostel and staff very warm, concerned about our comfort. Room, bathroom and common room very pleasant, safe and good atmosphere. High street hostel is essential Edinburgh hostel (cool pattern!)

nice hostel, cosy, comfortable, great location. just one down side i found, there were no sockets in the dorm, you had to use plug sockets located in the halls. Other than that i would definately recommend it.

Staff were so friendly and helpful! Rooms were large and spacious and each bunk gets their own free locker with key and lock! Beds are already made up which means all you have to do is fall into it after a hard day of travelling!

They have a pool table with competitions - a great way to make some friends!

Defiently enjoyed my stay here. It is a very large Hostel but everyone was very considerate and quiet during the night. I slept like a log :)

Lo mejor de todo es el personal y el ambiente que crea de buen rollo,siempre dispuesto a ayudarte.

Totalmente recomendable incluso para viajar con niños.

Bathroom and kitchen - and general - cleaness should be improved. Beds are confortable but pillows are not. Staff is nice.

The rooms look lovely. The communal space with a stage and hamock and really high ceiling is top notch and welcoming and the location of the hostel is great. But I had a hard time sleeping with the noise of the boiler, really loud making a noise every 15 minutes. Make sure you don't get the same room, it's next to the smoker's area. The kitchen wasn't looked after well, no cups in the morning.

unfortunately I can not even rate this hostel.

seeing the photo gallery I was expecting a cool,clean hostel.

But when we arrived-only seeing the reception, I was shocked!

dirty, dark, messy,staff seemed nice but we havent been given any warm welcome or useful information e.g. whether there is a kitchen area/lounge or the doors are stiff so pay extra caution etc.

I remembered from their site there should be a kitchen but I thought let`s get rid of the luggage 1st.

Arriving to the 8bed dorm i was even more terrified: crowdy,filthy, painting comes off from the walls and the floor,mouldy bath,yuck,yuck.

BUT! the most shocking was: the window was facing to the smoking area,horrible horrible.

i just couldnt clear clearly afterwards, i didnt know what to do, I dont have any OCD and wasnt expecting 5star hotel of course but the state of hostel wasnt facing at all the photos etc on their site.

I sat down on that thingie in the room-some kind of `tresure chest` (i certainly didnt want to know what filthy,rotten tresaures could have been there), was sitting there 10`.

my friend already packed out but i didnt dare to touch anything-there was a mattress cover but was absolutely filthy-yellow and brownish stains.

other dorm mates had the same opinion but there were too tired too to make any fuss.

seeing the staff at the reception I simply gave it up to ask her to swap the room-I honestly do not know why i was being shy?!!

probably because i thought it was a lost case anyhow??

but after another 10` pathetic sitting on that thingie i ve pulled myself together and went down to ask for extra bedlinen -likely got them without any further explanation. I simply told her the mattresses/-covers are disgusting. There wasn`t any apologising or any questions though how could they be more helpful. ANd I was stupid again and didnt ask where the kitchen etc. is or the cool sitting areas from their gallery.

I just was so shocked I gave it up or i dont know -my brain froze in that filth??-I certainly didnt want to wander around in that filthy,smelly staircase either-or probably my underego was scared to have a look at their kitchen??...

i did book the en suite to make our stay more comfortable but as i didnt dare to use that mouldy,yucky shower i ve choosen the groupie one-was slightly better but 1 chair for 10places??(dirty as well). no hooks??

and we happened to have met the cleaner being up as early-though i dont know if i acn call her that: no gloves and not having cleaned the actually showers/taps/tiles/doorhandles-only the cubicles tray??what sort of cleaning is that??

wiping the water off with her hand from the sink and that is hygienic??!!

her cleaning cupboard in horrible state-dirty cloths,some maintenance leftover tools/stuff,unorganised,pile of ...#'@!!disgusting

the en suite made an extremely loud pumping/flushing noise, we kept the window shut as smokers were outside constantly,had to check door during the night as other mates havent closed it properly.

so there was hardly a sleep for us-we were happy to leave as soon as we woke up-never mind nothing was open yet in the city and was raining...

i did like edinburgh but this experience certainly wont bring me back there...

so i certainly dont recommend this hostel to anyone or if u do dare to book it, be stronger to make a fuss. gd luck!

Extrêmement bien situé, personnel accueillant, grandes pièces communes. . . Un bon lieu de séjour à Edimbourg, je le recommande. Seule hic, si vous comptez rester vraiment longtemps, il ne faut pas être trop tatillon sur la propreté des pièces communes ;-)

An excellent Inn, conveniently located in the city, almost on Grassmarket and 2 steps from Royal Mile. A professional and warm, staff rooms and own sanitary. The most: the restoration to the ROC space and its bar. A Counsellor and re-Advisor.

Now you know where you stop during your next stay in Edinburgh.

Good atmosphere, helpful staff, but strong ultra music permanently, so no way to discuss on skype or other... Otherwise very well located! I recommend, therefore, this address has all fetards!

The night I stayed in the 30 bed dorm room I slept very bad. A group of guys made a lot of noise in the night, and I woke up several times.

Internet was working randomly.

Price and location are good.

The rest is quite ok.

We had a room under the roof with a vélux above the head, lot of noise from the outside at night.

Very small room, steps from square to ask our affairs, hangers, sink under the nose"," little thick walls.

Home ok, but it is all that matters.

I am a party in the company of my husband and my sister. All three we share the same opinion... it was superb!

The welcome was warm, pleasant, perfect and very comfortable, room terrace and kitchen...

Similarly, when we are away, the staff was perfect and very kind we propose to call a taxi.

After one such home, such a feeling of well-being we also only regret one thing, not being able to stay longer.

Very nice and friendly hostel, kitchen was fully equiped, internet for free. Everything was clean and we felt comfortable there.

El albergue esta although muy limpio y renovado.

Well located in the old side of Edinburgh. Home warm and sympathetic. The toilets are common and own. However we were in a room of 8 bunk beds and a bad smell was coming out. If you are on the street, it is not very relaxing. Corner kitchen with I need, lack a little place in the fridge.

Very cosy hostel, great location, clean, free coffee and tea, friendly staff. Maybe an additional fridge would come useful.

I stayed in it for 6 nights. It is really clean and located in the city center! with a very good service! I strongly recommend it

If you can get a bed this is the best Hostel I've ever stayed in, the owner and people were awesome. This is a small hostel great for one person travelers very social and really a great place to meet other travelers. Can't say enough good things.

the hotel was nice , but there was gross mismanagement on the part of manager. After booking our room, i was told that the hotel is overbooked and for one night we have been shifted to a different hotel but a similar en suite room.To my surprise the room was not on en suite and the service of that hotel was not great.

We were also not told about luggage charges and since the check in was at 2 pm the next day at Merrill house . We left our luggage there and went out, only to be told later that luggage charges apply,

So while the rooms were nice the service was pathetic to say the least

The apartments are very well equipped, properly heated, clean and comfortable.

The home by the hostess Jana was very warm (very professional and available) the hostel is well located in a quiet but where everything which may be necessary and 5 min walk from the historic centre.
